New Old 97's out today.

Also, if you google image search Will Sheff, Okkervil River OR Rhett Miller... one of my photos comes up by the third page for all of them! Not that I was doing that. Or anything. Whatever. Don't judge.

When did that last stretch of Mt Sugarloaf get so steep?!

The flea market in Hadley started last weekend!

cool!

fries!*

*They have fair-style fries. You know, the big paper boat filled to overflow with the skins left on. You eat them while sitting on the side of a hill near a horse farm drinking cans of soda and reveling in the grease. Most times I try to hug a horse. So. Good. I love Summer in New England.

One of today's icanhas was a pure ace. Especially if you remembered a Kids in the Hall skit like I did:

Today is drenched in chill and damp. Last week, though, was not. We had a BBQ at work; I was taking photos of the two dogs, Bella and Rosie, at a picnic to be used for a book. We had a company "meeting" so we could eat the props. Spring was spilling out in all sorts of places. There is a funky magnolia near the pool with wafer-thin bursts of paper-white dotting the branches. In between dogs stealing hot dogs photos, I managed to traipse through the mulch to grab a few shots.

Took a jaunt today to the Smith College bulb show. It was the last day. That equals - holy headache and lots of annoying pushy-pants people who don't realize there is a long line to look at flowers and you can't barge ahead like a barging buffalo. I liked the calm coolness of the other greenhouses, though.

It was quite drizzly today. So weary.

My first assistant photo-ing at a huge wedding went well. The Bond in Hartford is a beautiful ballroom on the 12th floor of a grand old hotel.

Experienced Los Lobos and the James Hunter band at the Calvin tonight. Good good. James Hunter and the band were very 1950s cheeky surfstyle rock. Got some great shots. Also scored some shots I was happy with from the Mountain Goats show the other night. Trying to have patience with my camera and my limited equipment for a lowlight sitch. Haven't posted about either yet; so behind.

Gosh, so tired and so much to do. I think I have left laundry in the dryer downstairs for, like, 4 days... eww, it will smell like basement now.

totally, completely ok with being >>this close<< (see below photo) this fine evening at the paradise in boston. close enough to get sweat on and man alive it looked like he'd taken a shower by the end of the eve.

i have even better, more fun, photos but it's nearly 4am and this is the first one I opened up.

i haven't ever been this excited to go to sleep so i can wake up and post photos and a blog post at the 'ol masslive music blog.

today was pretty damn great. many many thanks to colleen for snagging the (signed and dated and a little damp with sweat) set list even though another woman was gunning for it and swore after she grabbed it. I have tremendous friends.

so so so happy right now. awesome late night drive on the pike after another show that made me skip a little down comm ave. perfect solo perfomer. no one can compare. this'll set me on cloud nine for quite a few days now. supermegaawesomerad.

I wonder, sometimes, how I get through life:

rubberantenna: You go through phones faster than Amy Winehouse goes through bags of coke.

Auto response from asterdesigns: I, yet again, need a new phone.

How did I lose it from the parking lot to my friend's doorway last night? I should ask Robert Stack.

Through the old/wavy glass in my apartment.

All you Nor'Easterners... stay in tonight, will ya? A multitude of accidents on my 2.5 hour drive. She's a fast storm, folks. I am hunkering in tonight and glad to do so. I saw a bundled up passerby trudging in the middle of my street, I wanted to photograph him (her? bundling makes one ambiguous), but I had filled up my photo card with photos of my cat.

Seriously. )

...METAL...
Black Pyramid review.

http://blog.masslive.com/hiddentrack/2007/12/black_pyramid.html

Clay (pictured) is a pal o' mine (who was kind enough to drive over 60 miles with Beth and I just to procure my first chick-fil-a combo #1 the other day... it will most certainly NOT be my last. Delish beyond all getout.) Anyway, his new band is pretty badass. I didn't really understand what the singer was saying but I assumed it was about Vikings or something akin to that taking over your town. If they are playing near you, head out in support. They're heavy as hell and awesome. Bring ear plugs... that's a compliment! They are also opening for Jucifer in January, (I didn't know that until after I had compared them together in my review) my gut can't wait to feel that music, that's for damn sure.

So, I toiled away on some new photos and a review of the Academy of Music's Nutcracker performance this past weekend. God I love that Academy. I would love to put together a photography book on that place. Anyway, 'tis the freaking merry season:
